As part of Lions Clubs International — the world's largest service club organization with over 1.4 million members across 200+ countries — we focus on education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and social well-being. Every initiative reflects our core values of service, unity, and innovation, addressing the most pressing needs of our people.

Since our founding, the Lions Club of Ragama Legends has organized community health screenings, educational support programs, and environmental clean-up drives across the Ragama area in Western Province, Sri Lanka. Our work continues to grow as we expand our reach and deepen our impact.

Lions Club of Ragama Legends was founded and chartered in 2024. Since our founding, we have organized community health screenings, educational support programs, environmental clean-up drives, and social welfare initiatives across the Ragama area in Western Province, Sri Lanka.

We are located at No. 128/2, Sumudu Mawatha, Kadawatha, 11850, Western Province, Sri Lanka. Our club primarily serves the Ragama and Kadawatha communities, with outreach extending across the Western Province.

We belong to District 306 D5 of Lions Clubs International in Sri Lanka. District 306 encompasses Lions Clubs across Sri Lanka, and our club operates within Division D5, contributing to regional and national service initiatives.

We have over 30 active members committed to community service. Our members come from diverse professional backgrounds and are united by their dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them.

Membership

You can join by contacting us through our website contact form or social media channels. Prospective members are invited to attend our meetings as guests, meet current members, and learn about our activities before formally applying for membership.

Members gain opportunities to make a real community impact while developing leadership skills. You join a global network of 1.4 million Lions across 200+ countries, build lifelong friendships, access international programs, and develop professional skills through hands-on service projects.

The membership process involves five steps. First, express your interest by contacting us. Then attend 2-3 meetings as a guest. An existing member sponsors your application, which is reviewed by the club. Upon approval, you are inducted in a welcome ceremony.

Yes, anyone of good character who is committed to community service can join. We welcome members from all backgrounds, professions, and walks of life. The only requirements are a genuine desire to serve and the ability to participate in club activities.

You must be at least 18 years old to join the Lions Club. Young people aged 12-18 can join our Leo Club program, which provides similar community service opportunities with mentorship from Lions members.

Activities & Impact

We provide services across four focus areas: healthcare, education, environment, and community welfare. Our initiatives include health camps, vision screening, blood donation drives, school supply programs, scholarship support, environmental clean-ups, and social outreach programs.

We organize community health screenings, diabetes awareness campaigns, and eye care programs. Our health initiatives include free medical camps with qualified healthcare professionals, blood donation drives, and vision screening programs aligned with Lions Clubs International's global health priorities.

We support education through school supply donations and scholarship programs. Our educational initiatives include distributing learning materials to underserved schools, organizing career guidance workshops, providing tutoring support, and mentoring young people through our Leo Club program.

We have organized beach and river clean-up drives and tree planting initiatives. Our environmental projects include plastic-free awareness campaigns, community sustainability workshops, and collaborative clean-up events that bring volunteers together to protect local ecosystems.
