A Legacy of Service, Compassion, and Community Empowerment
The Lions Club of Ragama Legends was founded in 2024 as a chartered community service organization under Lions Clubs International, operating within District 306 D5, Sri Lanka. What began as a small group of passionate individuals united by a shared desire to serve has grown into a vibrant community of over 30 active members. From our earliest days, we recognized that meaningful change happens when compassionate people come together with a common purpose — to uplift the lives of those around them.
Our club was born out of the realization that the Ragama community, nestled in the Western Province of Sri Lanka, needed dedicated voices advocating for better healthcare access, quality education, environmental stewardship, and social well-being. Inspired by the global mission of Lions Clubs International and guided by the motto 'We Serve,' our founding members set out to build an organization rooted in integrity, inclusivity, and innovation. Every initiative we undertake reflects these founding principles.
Since our charter, we have organized community health screenings that have reached hundreds of residents, launched educational support programs for underprivileged students, conducted environmental clean-up drives across the Ragama and Kadawatha areas, and provided direct assistance to families in need. Our journey is still young, but our resolve is unwavering — we are committed to expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and building a brighter future for every person we serve.
